Swallow  Tales                                                                         

"Swallow Tales" is about the pair of Tree Swallows that nested in the nesting house we built.  I hope you enjoy these little stories.  Have you ever seen a bird trying to fly while holding a feather?  Yes, this is true!  One day I was watering our garden when I scared the female and she flew out very quickly and a feather flew out too.  Then the male ( who was sitting on a power line near by) flew down and grabbed it (with his beak) and flew up in the sky.  As I watched him, it looked as if he was playing with it!   For as he was flying he would let it go then he would catch it.  He did this several times before he brought it back to their nest.  This happened two more times.  This is one of the strange things that these birds do.  Keep tuned for more stories!
